The flop showed a Q95 and Meran bet 600 chips that his rival called. The turn was an A and Meran again fired 2,750 chips that his rival called.

Among the players enjoying Day 1B of the 2017 Punta Cana Poker Classic are Alberto Meran, Carlos Sobenes and Gabriel Zakalik.
Sobenes finished fourth for a $46,405 prize. Gabriel finished fifth a few years ago and took home a $24,330 prize.

Players at the Main Event will start with a 20,000 stack and will have seven levels of late registration. After ten 50-minute levels, players will bag and tag.

Lucas Smith leads after Day 1A at the 2017 PCPC
Day 1A of the 2017 Punta Cana Poker Classic is on the books. The first flight of the event registered 233 entries but at the end of the day only 93 would remain. Lucas Smith finished on top of the counts with a 191,000 stack while reigning champion, Eduards Kudrjavcevs finished with 140,000 chips.
Big names such as Chris Hunichen, Damian Salas, Francis Cruz, Bolivar Palacios , Jeff Gross, Chris Oliver, Alberto Meran, Julio Belluscio, Horacio Castillo were among the players who showed up for the first day of action.
