The WSOP is almost back.
The 2016 World Series of Poker schedule is finally here. The upcoming serial will have 69 bracelet events and several changes. The serial will start June 1st with Event #1 $565 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em and will finish with the $1,111 Little One for One Drop.
The Main Event will start July 9 while Colossus II will kick-off June 2. The 2016 series will host two high roller events: The $25,000 PLO High Roller and the $111,111 High Roller for One Drop. The $50,000 Poker Players Championship will kick-off July 2nd.
The series will present many changes. For the 2016 series, 15% of the field will cash rather than the old standard of 10 percent. The Main Event will also increase its starting stack from 30,000 chips to 50,000 chips.
New events have been added like the $565 Pot Limit Omaha and the $1,000 Tag Team Event. Altough the WSOP announces the tag team event as a new event, there’s actually been a tag team but it stopped running in 1983. Also, the Pot Limit Hold’em events have dissapeared from the schedule for the upcoming series.
Many fans were expecting the $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop for this series but the WSOP decided to take it out from the schedule. Rumors say that the event will be held this year but not as a part as the 2016 WSOP main schedule.
