    Puesto 1º: Roberto Carvallo ($120.425)

Nine players returned for the final day of the 2017 Punta Cana Poker Classic but at the end only two of them would take home the first prize. And that is because Jamin Stokes and Roberto Carvallo agreed to a deal where each of them would take home $97,590.

The American and the Chilean player were on a rollercoaster with several lead changes and decided that a chop would be the better way to end a marvelous event.

The day began with the elimination of James Casement (9° – $11,395) who crashed his Ace-Ten against Craig’s pocket Aces. It was Level 25 when Kalman Dohany (8° – $14,730) shoved his stack with Jack-Eight just to realize that Smith had pocket Queens.

Just before the break, Cristopher Cardinale (7° – $18,900) was eliminated when his Queen-Four failed to defeat Jamin’s pocket nines. Lucas Smith (6° – $23,620) who was leader on Day 1A, shoved his last chips with Ace-Nine but couldn’t find any help against Soriano’s pocket threes.

Julian Kaplan (5° – $29,180) was eliminated when his Ace-Seven couldn’t improve against Stoke’s Jack-Ten when Jamin connected a ten on the turn. He was followed by Benjamin Craig (4° – $39,185) when his pocket threes were defeated by Stokes Ten-Five.

Just a few seconds later, Santiago Soriano (3° – $50,025) shoved his stack with Ace-Four and got called by Carvallo with King-Jack. The Chilean connected a King on the turn and send the Spaniard home in third place.

With only two players left, a battle began where Jamin and Roberto shared the lead. After two levels of ups and downs, both players decided that they would chop the remaining prize.

This is the eight year of the Punta Cana Poker Classic and the second in a row it comes to the beautiful Meliá Caribe Tropical. The Main Event registered 382 entries for a $55,810 prizepool.
